Hes a faker Fans heavily bash Novak Djokovic over medical timeout drama as the Serbian

July 2024 · 3 minute read

Novak Djokovic has a unique history of making a swift comeback after taking some time off as a medical timeout. More often than not, that is not taken well by the fans, and once again they lash out at the Serbian following his medical timeout at the Roland Garros.

Djokovic was up against Francisco Cerundolo in the fourth round of the French Open, when he suffered a nasty fall in the third game of the second set. While trying to go after the Argentine’s forehand, Djokovic slipped and fell hard. He did not react well to the fall and even took a medical timeout right after.

He was losing against Cerundolo before the timeout and after that, he bounced back in great form. Even though Djokovic was down two sets, he was a better player by the time the pain-kill started to kick in. With that came a wave of reactions from the fans, who accused Djokovic of faking the injury.

As he has done many times before, Djokovic once again bounced back from the darkest of depths to make an impact in the game and beat the Argentine in great fashion. In the end, he won 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 to enter the quarterfinals of the French Open.

Fans react to Novak Djokovic taking a medical-timeout during the fourth round match

For the second time in a row, Novak Djokovic pulled off a great comeback at the French Open. After a third-round match, against Lorenzo Musetti, Djokovic reminded the world that he can never be counted out; and repeated the same a couple of days later.

Fans however have taken it in the negative way. Here is a look at some of those reactions.

1000%. He’s such a cheater!

It’s clearly gamesmanship, which is technically not illegal, but it has been his approach ever since he started on the tour…bouncing the ball upwards of 20 times before serving was just the start of his M.O.

He’s done this his whole career when facing hard opposition, mto to brake the pace, limping, looking injured, the suddenly he’s 100%, no other player has been so manipulative and calculating, but he always get away with it.

There isn’t one person on this planet apart from PavvyG who thinks Djokovic is really injured

magic happened , somehow his knee turned into titanium, biggest joke of a player ever

— AMAN 🇵🇱 (@AJSRKIAN7) June 3, 2024

There is probably nothing wrong with his knee, just playing mind-games as usual.

He’s a faker ,did the same vs alcaraz at Cincinnati

— Adebs (@Adebola78620107) June 3, 2024

This has happened way too many times for it to be a coincidence
It is unprofessional & unsporting
He messes with the opponent’s state of mind as the guy feels sorry then dials down a gear & then just like that, the Djoker is fine!
Saw it on Cerundolo’s face…
Now why he does…

The Serbian also reached an incredible achievement by making it to the quarterfinals of this tournament for the 15th consecutive time and 18th time overall. He will now take on Casper Ruud for a spot in the last four.

Another exciting match for the tennis world, which is a rematch of last year’s finals, where Djokovic had raced away in three sets. However, this year Ruud has been in good touch and has already beaten Djokovic at the start of the clay season.
