August 2024 · 2 minute read

Demand for quality child care in Idaho is reaching critical concern – with over 74,670 children in need of potential child care and only 55,850 child care slots in the state, there are over 20,000 children in need of support according to theIdaho Child Care Gap Assessment.

Working in partnership with the Idaho Workforce Development Council, Wonderschool offers free training programs to help providers either start or expand their small child care business in Idaho.

The Idaho Workforce Development Council has funding available through the Child Care Expansion Grant program to expand capacity for high-quality child care available to working Idaho families.

New providers creating 12 or fewer child care slots or current small providers expanding to 24 or fewer can apply for grant funding to create or expand child care capacity in Idaho.

And the need for quality child care in Idaho is essential.

In some cases up to $15,000 per new child care seat, which can cover expenses including start-up and operational costs, center supplies, equipment, learning materials and staffing costs.

Grant applications are open through April 1st, 2024.

Wonderschool is available to guide all applicants in everything needed to apply for the grant by the deadline.
